Transition 3-on-2

Three lanes filled against a two-man tandem — stop at the nail and the defense guards nobody well.

THE TRIGGER — ONE LOOK

Two defenders stacked in a line between you and the rim — one high, one deep — while both your wings run wide. That tandem is trading a bucket for time; your spacing breaks it.

YOUR JOB, BY WHERE YOU'RE STANDING

Ballhandler

Stop at the nail — feet under control, ball alive — and force the top defender to take you.

The free-throw line is where all three options stay open. Barrel to the rim and the back man takes a charge; stop short and either wing is one pass away.

Left lane

Run your lane wide the whole way and finish it at the block — never curl into the paint early.

Wide and deep makes the back defender wrong both ways: step to you and the other side is open, stay home and your catch is a layup.

Right lane

Mirror the left lane — sprint wide to the right block so the back defender is stretched across the whole paint.

The tandem's back man can only slide one direction. Two deep, wide targets mean the ballhandler's first pass always has a clean answer.

THE NEXT BEAT

The top defender takes the ball and the back one splits your wings. Your first pass makes the back man pick a side; the second pass is the layup. Charge all the way in and you turn a 3-on-2 into his charge call.
