Keep the Advantage Alive
Once your team creates an advantage — a beaten defender, a two-on-one, an open teammate — the goal changes. You're no longer trying to create; you're trying to keep the advantage alive until it becomes a great shot. Every pass or drive should leave the defense more scrambled than before, never less. If you beat your man and then pick up your dribble to think, the advantage dies and you start over. Attack, draw the next defender, pass to the open teammate, and let the advantage roll downhill until someone has a layup or a wide-open shot.
READ THIS
See the scramble state: a defender beaten off the line, a helper leaving their man, an offensive teammate standing free behind the rotation.
DO THIS
Attack the open space immediately and move the ball one step ahead of the rotation — pass to the freed teammate before their defender recovers.

IN THE SITUATION ROTATION
In a 3v3 game you beat your defender off the dribble on the right side. Their teammate leaves the left wing to cut off your drive, and your own man is scrambling behind you. Your left-wing teammate is now standing alone.
