A double team is four points on the floor guarding one: somewhere a teammate stands alone. Beating the double with a pass turns the trap into a 4-on-3.
Doubler's man
Flash to the nail the instant your defender leaves you to double.
Your defender just abandoned you — the middle of the floor is yours. At the nail you're one short pass from the post and one swing from every shooter.
Corner shooter
Hold the deep corner with your feet set — the fan-out swing arrives one pass later.
Your defender is sunk into the lane. Wandering up shortens his scramble; holding deep means the nail-to-corner swing catches him a full sprint from home.
