FIG. 17MISMATCH HUNT2V2
In every game, one defender is more beatable than the other — slower, smaller, more tired, or in foul trouble. Smart teams figure out who that is early and build their attack around them. In 2v2, this is simple: use a screen to force that defender onto the ball, or send your bigger player at the smaller defender near the basket. Don't be polite about it. If the same action works three times, run it a fourth. The defense has to prove they can stop it before you have any reason to try something else.

READ THIS

Watch both defenders in the opening possessions — notice who is slower sliding, gives ground on contact, or reaches when beaten.

DO THIS

Screen the weaker defender into the ball, and attack them the same way repeatedly until the defense proves it has an answer.

COACHING LINEAGE

Pat Riley

Transition aggression — push before the defense sets. The best offense happens in the first six seconds.

Doc Rivers

The mental game is real: confidence is a tactical weapon. Hesitation is the most common turnover.

IN THE SITUATION ROTATION

A switch in your 2v2 game leaves a big, slower defender on you at the right slot, and they are still getting their feet set. Your partner is spaced to the corner with the quicker defender attached to them.
