LEVEL 2Small Sided2v2
Switch, Fight, or Show
When the offense sets a screen, you and your teammate have three choices. Switch: trade players — simple, but it can create bad matchups. Fight over: the on-ball defender battles through the screen and stays on their man — best against shooters, but hard work. Or show: the screener's defender jumps out to slow the ball while their teammate recovers. The worst option is having no plan — two defenders both guarding the ball while someone walks to the rim. Talk before the screen arrives. A mediocre plan shared by two players beats a perfect plan known by one.
READ THIS
See the screen coming before it arrives — the screener's defender has the sightline and must read who is screening and who is being screened.
DO THIS
Call the coverage out loud before contact — switch like-sized matchups, fight over against shooters, show and recover when the sizes don't match.

IN THE SITUATION ROTATION
You are defending the ball in 2v2 with four seconds left on the shot clock. Their best shooter has the ball and a screen is coming from a player the same size as your teammate. There is no time to recover if anyone comes open.
