Own the Short Corner
The short corner is the spot along the baseline about halfway between the basket and the corner. In 3v3 it's gold, because defenses watch the arc and the rim and forget the space between. Stand there and you're a bounce pass away from a layup, invisible to a defender who's watching the ball. When a teammate drives, slide along the baseline into the short corner behind the defense's heads. The catch there is deep, close, and usually uncontested — one dribble or a drop step and you're at the rim.
READ THIS
Watch the helper's eyes when your teammate drives — when they step up ball-side and lose sight of the baseline, the short corner is empty.
DO THIS
Drift along the baseline into the short corner as the drive commits, show a target hand, and finish off the catch with one move.
