The Pass Is Not the End
Most players pass and then stand still, admiring the play. But the moment you pass is exactly when your defender relaxes — their eyes follow the ball, their stance softens, and for a second you're forgotten. That's your window. Pass and move somewhere new: slide along the arc, cut through to the other side, drift to an open corner. When the ball comes back to you — and it often does — you'll be catching in space instead of in front of a set defender. The pass isn't the end of your job. It's the start of your next shot.
READ THIS
Watch your defender's head the instant your pass leaves — the turn to follow the ball is your signal that you've been forgotten.
DO THIS
Pass and immediately relocate at least ten feet along the arc or backdoor, arriving in the ball-handler's vision with your feet set to shoot.
