Feeding the Post Is a Craft
Getting the ball to a teammate in the post looks simple and fails constantly, because the pass depends on angles. The rule: you can't feed the post from above the wing — the defender behind your teammate can reach around and deflect it. Move your dribble toward the baseline until your teammate's body is between their defender and the ball. Then throw it away from the defense, to the hand your teammate shows you. A good post feed leads them into their move. A lazy one gets stolen and turns into a fast break the other way.
READ THIS
Read the post defender's position relative to your teammate — behind, three-quarter high side, or fronting — and whether your angle puts the seal between defender and ball.
DO THIS
Dribble to improve the angle first, then feed away from the defense to the show hand — firm to a seal, lob only against a front with no weak-side help.
