Switch It All, Kill the Motion
Some defenses switch every screen: whenever two offensive players cross or screen for each other, their defenders simply trade men. Nobody chases through screens, nobody gets caught behind a pick, and the offense's motion suddenly produces nothing. The cost is mismatches — sometimes your smallest player ends up guarding their biggest. Switching only works if all five defenders do it instantly and talk constantly. One hesitation, one silent switch, and two players end up open. It's the simplest scheme to describe and the hardest to do lazily.
READ THIS
Watch every screen develop and hear the call before contact — silence approaching a screen is the alarm bell.
DO THIS
Call the switch early, trade bodies flat with no gap, and if a mismatch lands in the post, scram-switch it out from the weak side before the entry.
