Short-Corner Seal
In 3v3 the short corner is a scoring spot: a big who seals his man there owns a two-foot layup window.
THE TRIGGER — ONE LOOK
A teammate planted in the short corner with his defender pinned on his back — daylight between the big and the baseline is the window.
YOUR JOB, BY WHERE YOU'RE STANDING
Short-corner man
Hold the seal — wide base, defender pinned on your back, target hand up for the feed.
The seal only pays if it lasts until the ball arrives. Step toward the pass and you free the defender you worked to pin; hold and the catch is a one-dribble layup.
Ballhandler
Feed the seal now — a firm pass to the baseline hand, away from the pinned defender.
A seal has a shelf life of about two seconds. Throw it on time to the open hand and it's a layup; wait, and the defender fights around while the help arrives.
Third man
Lift behind the arc away from the ball while the defense stares at the seal.
Your defender is the only help the seal has to fear. Lifting behind the arc makes his stunt a two-point gamble — sink and you shoot, stay and the layup is clean.
THE NEXT BEAT
The defense has one answer: the third defender stunts down to steal the entry. That stunt is exactly what the lift behind the arc punishes — and in 3v3 the kick-out is worth double.
